Birthday Card for My Sister

I have one sister who was born on my 3rd birthday in June many years ago. She is very special, because fourteen years ago she became a heart recipient and is doing very well. She has always loved being fashionable, so I couldn't resist making this birthday card and envelope for her.

I designed the card using the Gypsy with Cricut cartridges Forever Young and Ashlyn's Alphabet. The shapes and wordings for the card were cut using the Cricut Expression. Embossing was done with the Cuttlebug and a Cuttlebug folder. The envelope was made with the aid of a Martha Stewart Scoring board.

Products used  Cardstock: The Paper Company, DCWV(La Creme and At Home); Paper: K & Company; Acetate:from packaging; Rhinestone: Studio 18; Gel Pen: Sakura; Ribbon( I don't know)

Decorating Books For Faithbooking

The second Saturday in April Tammy Skinner introduced Faithbooking to the blog followers on Cuttlebug Challenge. You might wonder what is Faithbooking , well to quote Tammy it is as follows: What is scrapbooking? Everyone knows that one, right? It's the preservation of our memories for generations to come.Well, that is exactly what faithbooking is too. That and so much more. In faithbooking, not only are you preserving  those memories...but you are sharing a piece of your spirit with your future generations.

I found this very inspiring. So the next day, I headed to Michaels to buy a $1.00 journal and a $5.99 album. Yesterday I did a little decorating of the books, so I would be ready for the next in series of lessons tomorrow. The album is a Recollections Damask. I did the designing using the Gypsy and  Lyrical Letters for the word saying as well as the butterflies. They were all cut using the Original cricut. Paper: DCWV Pastel with white core and AC Cardstock. The ribbons are Sugar n' Spice(butterflies) and Bobbin(Blessings). Embossing was done using the Cuttlebug and Divine Swirls folder. The embossing was sanded with a MM fine sanding block.

National Scrapbooking Day

Saturday May 1st was National Scrapbooking Day. It was a day for all scrapbookers to celebrate by taking out their paper supplies and tools to make creations. There were parties and challenges to be a  participant. I was following My Pink Stamper on Facebook and her blog. Over the course of the day there were twelve challenges for us to do. I was able to do three of them.

The first challenge was to make a Mother's Day card. Since I have four daughter and a daughter-in-law who are all mothers, I decided to make a card for each of them. Here are three of the five cards I made.

I made an envelope, but it is too small for the card that measures 6 inches by 6 inches.

Challenge # 8 Love My Color. For this we were to make something in a Monochromatic color with a flower. I made a card with some of the pink paper left over from the Mother's Day cards that I used to test the border punch.

The finally challenge was named Critter-licious. We were to make a card, page or project using animal or critter. I chose to make a double layout of one of my kittens watching  a chipmunk.
